Analog
The Manor
studio is model on the famous studio in Oxford
England. Albums that was recorded there included
Mike Oldfields
Tubular Bells.
Why Analog?
It is all
about the tone and warmth, Tape tends to reveal
certain dynamics that standard digital can't
touch; lower -register instruments such as drums
and bass in particular sound fantastic when
tracked on to tape, also it as also been argued
that the sound produced by a 1/2 tape running
at 15ips is still more accurate and transparent
and has better frequency response than a digital
audios 44.1kHz or even 48kHz. and also the
ability of tape to withstand higher signal
levels then digital without distortion and it is
at these higher level that tape as this magical
quality where signals become compressed the
result of maximizing the tape saturation levels
Why only 8 Tracks?
Using
only 8 track enables you to keep things honest
without the the benefits of countless numbers of
tracks and undoes you have to get it right the
first time. Its also gives the client an insight
on how the artist of 60's and the 70's were
recorded. The Beatles did not have the luxury of
countless tracks and undoes when they recorded
Revolver one of the most influential albums of
the 20th century along with Sgt Pepper they
changed face of modern recording. Even some
artists today White Stripes in particular
recorded their Albums (Elephant, Get behind Me
Satan) entirely on a 8 track Analog Machine.
